In Chris’s own words:
“… exploring the land at every opportunity, I want to capture the way it makes me feel. I love the flow of the shapes, the restless forces of erosion and the stories the land could tell.
“After walking, sketching and photographing I plan the compositions with thumbnail drawings and then, using a base of watercolour, pastels or both, I work quickly to keep the curves flowing. I try to translate movement and energy onto paper, but also remain true to the forms that made me want to paint.”
Chris moved to Wales in 1966 and has lived in Pembrokeshire since 1997.
