When designing his furniture, Christian O'Reilly draws inspiration from shapes or lines which catch his attention, which can be anything from the lines of a utilitarian fork to the shape of a pebble. He is also influenced by architecture and the space in which a piece is to sit. Christian uses sustainably managed wood. He starts by selecting exactly the right piece of wood, ensuring the grain follows the lines of the piece and ends with painstaking hand finishing, enabling him to incorporate the fine and subtle detailing which is a feature of his work.
Isaac's Bench: designed to be used as a hall seat, a small settle or extra seating at a table, the seat is made of English brown oak and has traditional horse hair and wadding upholstery.
