Deborah transforms small plywood offcuts - which would otherwise be burned or sent to landfill - into handsome, robust and original furniture.
Plywood is collected from boat builders, carpenters, kitchen fitters, colleges and recycling centres across west Wales. Each piece is sorted, cut and assembled by hand to produce uniquely-patterned end-grain boards, the basis for Deborah's simple but rich-surfaced pieces.
The furniture is made in small batches - or can be produced individually to order.
Deborah set up her company, re-ply designs, in 2007 after having graduated at Plymouth University. In this short time her work has been short-listed for the Cardiff Design Festival Furniture Award and nominated for a Homes and Gardens Classic Award.
