“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having ‘new eyes’.” Marcel Proust
Nikki Cass, London born, has been living and working in Wales since 1987. She studied architectural glass at Swansea Institute. Since completing the course in 1990 she has exhibited her glass compositions and sculptures around Britain and Ireland. Her work is in private collections in Britain, Australia and the USA. Commissions include a glass panel for the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts 2004, and a series of panels for Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.
She uses painting, casting and fusing techniques to produce pieces that are, in her own words, “based on the exploration of natural and urban landscape … bold abstract colours, expressive paintmarks and related forms built up like layers of time”.
