Julia studied at Cheltenham, where she gained a BA Hons degree in fashion and textile design.
Pursuing a freelance career, she applied her training to matters as diverse as fabrics, fashion and interior design.
She has also created costumes and sets for film and theatre, and is now a full-time lecturer in art and design in Pembrokeshire College.
Her two dimensional work in the gallery combines the techniques of painting, collograph, silk-screen, batik and embroidery, often layered together, to produce surfaces as rich, complicated and satisfying as the natural world that informs them.
