Using fabric, paper and thread to create her pictures, Anne succeeds in capturing the atmosphere and variable moods of the landscape through the seasons. Farmsteads that seem to have grown into the landscape over the years, stones telling of past inhabitants of these islands, and the richness and clarity of the colour and light in Pembrokeshire are a constant source of fascination and inspiration for her.

Working from drawings done on-site, Anne’s pieces are developed using layers of transparent fabric to create the atmosphere of the time of day and season, sometimes rubbing powders and waxes into the surface to add to the effect. She then uses both hand and free machine stitching to enhance detail and texture.

Anne is a member of The Makers Guild in Wales, and lives near Cardiff.
